The school is ok. The home Ec teacher doesn't know how to sew and when I was their last year, the cooking class was as useful as a fish outta water. The teachers can be unhelpful and the principal does tend to overreact with suspensions. But she is very nice and won't make you feel uncomfortable even if you are in trouble. I liked it but these factors lowered the stars. Btw if you get Mrs.Stoffberg, you are lucky
Great school, respectful kids having fun. Excellent admin & principle.
All right, I have to be honest. As much as I enjoyed my experience at this school, I only did so by ignoring the bad points fully. There's some serious problems with this school that were not addressed in my three years, yes that's true. What people aren't pointing out is the great teachers among a few bad ones. Mr. Kwong, Ms. Stoffberg, Mr. Cupit, Mr. Beveridge, Ms. Morgan, Mr. Gordon, Ms. Patrao, Mr. Hart, Ms. Ebenal, Ms. Quan, (just to name a few) were all really great teachers at the school. I can't say I thought badly of them in my time there. The homework level in the MACC program was rather high, but outside of that program it was not a lot of homework. Some teachers were not very understanding when students did not understand concepts. Some teachers were very forceful with their opinions on students and would bring their opinions into their classes. That is not acceptable behaviour on a teacher's part. The school itself was not very clean. The bathrooms were almost unusable at times due to unhygenic conditions. Often the bathroom close to the art room smelled of marijuana and was covered in gum. There were constantly overflowing trash cans, trash/bottle bags all over the school and courtyard, and littering problems. None of these made the school really feel clean. Most people I knew made an effort to avoid using the bathrooms at all costs, which isn't something students should have to think about. The music program at the school was enjoyable, I learned a lot out of it. Not much else to say, but join trumpet :)There were some moments where I questioned the logic of our school rules, whoever made the decisions. A designated water bottle flipping zone? No dabbing? These are very minor problems. I understand the reasons behind no Fortnite and violent video games, but the dabbing one really made me laugh. I didn't see any bullying while I was at the school, but I suppose that's because I stayed in the MACC classrooms at recess and lunch for the entire time. I hear there were issues that were serious and were not addressed by school staff. That really bothered me. One would think that the school teachers would be more intent on finding these problems. In the end, a lot of these problems were because of poor decisions on the students' part. I believe the staff should try and fix these problems, and the experience will be a lot more enjoyeable to everyone rather than just myself.Haitchka.
Got bullied in this school...but later on people started to like me. 1 star for lolz
