Facilities are good. Very high walls and fun bouldering wall. Staff was unwelcoming and not very helpful. Not great for people new to climbing like me. I felt like if I didn't know all the etiquette, or had "rookie" questions, I was treated very rudely. I reccomend Cliffhanger for new climbers, much nicer staff.
Probably the best climbing gym in metro Vancouver. While it's a little out of the way, it more than makes up for it by sheer size and the number of routes and variety. Routes are updated very frequently and never gets boring here. Two dedicated bouldering walls makes makes for a huge variety.Price is a bit steep for drop in at around $22 but you can always get a 5 time stamp card for under $100 which is about 10% off. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and they hold classes to get you up to speed.
There are lots of routes to work on. Having access to both bouldering problems and routes lets you switch back and forth and increase your finger strength with a less chance of injury. I found continuing climbing in other bouldering only places a bit too harsh on fingers. So this is a great place where you can rather safely train to become a well-rounded climber.
I'm not a climber, too heavy and inflexible, but have chosen to fight gravity a few times here. Although I lost out to the laws of gravity every time and dangled precariously 30 feet off the floor I enjoyed the experience. Have also taken the kids here when they were of 'birthday party' age and their friends and themselves had a blast. Never felt unsafe or non-supervised. If you're fat like me then maybe find a pool to float in and leave climbing to everyone else. A great place to go if you're not mass challenged.
As a long-time climber, I go at least three three times a week, and absolutely love it here. The staff are always smiling and helpful, and I've become quite good friends with them. The routes and problems are refreshed pretty frequently, and there's a massive range of skill levels accounted for. It's my favorite climbing gym.
