I ordered takeout from this restaurant through Skip the dishes. I have been finding it difficult to find good Korean food in the lower mainland and it's been a tough one. Waba Korean Restaurant by far the best I come across. I ordered Beef Bi-Bim-Bop and Half and half deep fried boneless chicken. First time trying Bi-Bim-Bop and it was so freaking flavorful and tasted so fresh. You also get a side of Kim chi and what tasted like sweet potato chunks which were really good too. The chicken is pricey, but worth every penny. The chicken was so tender and juicy. It had hardly any breading, was crispy and juicy which I really enjoyed. Absolutely, recommend to anyone. Tried it for the first time and it wasn't too bad. I really enjoyed the bolgogi. The staff was friendly which for me is extremely important. I would come back.
Good Korean options with a bit of fusion thrown in, Waba is a fantastic local restaurant we visit consistently and even though they've changed hands once by my count, the food has remained good and the staff friendly. The pork bone soup is simply amazing, they don't skimp on any of the ingredients and imho, if you order anything less than the 'spicy' option, you're missing out. Seafood pancake, their korena style fried chicken, and their bulgolgi are also highly recommended options.
We will definitely come back. Really good soup broth cooked down from bones and seasoned well. So the soft tofu soup was great. The side dishes were delicious too. The bibimbap was alright.
